Black History at Grace
During this Black History Month, Grace Church proudly honors the rich history, faith, leadership, and resilience of African Americans, whose stories are essential to the life of the Church and the wider community.
Located in the heart of downtown Wilmington, Grace Church has long been shaped by its music, worship and community. But, it has been called to be a cross-cultural congregation. We are thankful for the many ways Grace Church has been a place of belonging and for how, over time, we have grown and changed to become an affirming and welcoming congregation for African Americans.
Black History is woven into the story of faith, justice, and hope. As a United Methodist congregation, we give thanks for those who came before us, celebrate those who lead among us now, and recommit ourselves to the ongoing work of justice, reconciliation, and love of neighbor.
May this month invite us to remember, to listen, to learn, and to continue building a community where all people are seen, valued, and truly belong.
Blessings on the Journey,
